Short distance from the Shinagawa Station which is a big station that you can go almost anywhere from. The room sizes were on the smaller size but that's to be expected as most hotels have small rooms in Japan. Small bathroom but it had a shower and bath combination. There was enough room in there for the average person to move around. Rooms also had everything one would expect such as shower caps and toothbrushes but they also had things like plastic combs and razors as well as nightshirts that were refreshed every day like the towels were. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are also two washing/ dryer machines on the 2nd floor where the vending machines are. We also had breakfast there and it was very nice but it can get repetitive as there isn't any change day after day. I would stay there again but I wouldn't have breakfast every day. The staff was very helpful, even they changed the breakfast menu for us. Only downside is that there is a very steep hill that needs to be climbed to get to the hotel and that is difficult with suitcases and with tired feet after a long day of walking around exploring Tokyo.

The room was comfortable and a good size for a Japanese hotel room. The bed was firm, but I slept comfortably with no pain in the morning. Compared to other hotel breakfasts I had during my trip, this one is simple, but filling. When you take a seat, they bring out a plate of eggs and breakfasts meats, then you can go to the small buffet as much as you like. The staff were extremely nice and friendly, even with the language barrier. I liked being able to leave my luggage in the hotel after checkout. I still had some time before my flight, so I asked to leave my luggage with them while I explored the area. The aquarium is right across the street and so is the shopping area. If you need an easier time up the slope, the shopping area has some escalators and walkways that can take you partway up. I loved how close it was to the Shinagawa station.

We were so happy with our stay at Shinagawa Tobu. It’s only a brief walk to Shinagawa station, which can get you all over Tokyo. The staff were incredibly friendly — my partner and I came in sweating after a stressful journey to Tokyo, and pushing our luggage up a steep hill (no way around this unfortunately, so just a warning if you’re unfit like me!), and the receptionist grabbed us water while we checked in. The rooms are small, but that’s to be expected of Tokyo. Lovely deep baths though, so it was great to unwind after being on your feet all day. 7/11 convenience store is nearby in the Shinagawa Prince Hotel complex. I’ve stayed in Shinjuku before and definitely preferred this hotel!

It's a bit small and the rooms could do with a touch up, but I happily give this place 10 out of 10 just for the super friendly and helpful check-in staff. Our plane took off almost 3 hours late and we couldn't make it to the hotel by the 11.30pm check-in time. I messaged and called and they were happy to keep the front desk open until we arrived very late. It was a huge relief and extremely welcoming after a terrible day.

The location was fantastic, just up the road from Shinagawa station. Breakfast was ok, fry up to start with, yoghurt, pastries, coffee, tea, orange juice. And a first for me for breakfast- beef curry with rice followed by onion soup! Good provisions in the room- slippers, bottled water, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower caps, wash cloth, hairbrush, hair tie, cotton pads, toothbrush and use if a hairdryer.
